Water Rising in Ponds

The rain is still falling and the ponds are rising. Water will continue to rise even after the rain stops  because of the feeder streams and general runoff from the surrounding hills. Good time to check your boats and docks, especially if your boat is tied to your dock!

Apri Fools Joke?

I was removing a tree from the roof of our cottage when I spotted some ducks in the water.  The sun was warm and no wind....really nice.  Suddenly I remembered - tomorrow is April Fools day and the weatherman says snow Sunday night , I'm hoping it's not true!

Shoreland Violations Update

The town of Sebago Selectmen met last night to discuss the status of a recovery plan
regarding the shore land violations at a Hancockpond road address. A plan, created with a private contractor, for replanting of trees, general ground cover and lake side bushes was submitted by the land owner.

The town manager reviewed this plan with the DEP.

Completion of this plan by May 15 of this year is required. Discussion of possible fines was posponed to a future date. The original excavation contractor will be sent a letter citing these violations and a copy of that letter will be filed for future reference.

Town of Sebago Selectmen, agendas, and notes can be found here.

Future Communication Tools

We are considering the many tools available to us (Facebook, Webpage, Twitter, News Letter.....) and what combination informs the largest audience, is cost effective and is manageable for a small organization like ours.
